Story details

ACReSAL said stakeholders discussed a Strategic Catchment Management Plan for the Oshin-Oyi catchment at a meeting in Jos reported on October 18. The watershed spans Kwara, Kogi and Niger states and covers 4.9 million hectares, according to the project report.

The assessment cited high soil-loss risk across about 48% of the catchment and proposed erosion control, afforestation, flood management, river desilting, climate-smart agriculture and improved clean-water access. These are identified priorities and a roadmap; the release does not report completed restoration outcomes.
