Story details
Pursuit Minerals announced on 28 October final lithium brine assay results from DDH-3 at the Mito tenement of its Rio Grande Sur project in Salta Province, Argentina. The highest reported concentration was 995 milligrams of lithium per litre, from the sampling interval between 444.2 and 445.0 metres.
Four individual brine samples exceeded 900 mg/L lithium and eight exceeded 800 mg/L. Other results included 964 mg/L from 461.2–462.0 metres, 943 mg/L from 480.2–481.0 metres and 922 mg/L from 454.2–455.0 metres. The samples represent discrete intervals and should not be treated as a continuous aquifer with a uniform concentration.
The peak result is approximately 23% above the previously announced 809 mg/L concentration. Additional reported samples included 867 mg/L from 403.0–403.8 metres and 827 mg/L from 509.2–510.0 metres. The deeper results add chemical evidence of lithium-enriched brines within the northern part of the Rio Grande salar.
Pursuit considers the results supportive of potential resource growth and higher grades, but the announcement does not itself establish a revised mineral resource. Brine concentration is also distinct from sustainable pumping yield, recoverable lithium and commercial extraction performance. Further hydrogeological, resource and processing assessment is required to translate the sampled concentrations into a development case.
