Story details
Rapid Critical Metals Limited announced the completion of its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Prophet River Gallium-Germanium Project, located in northern British Columbia, Canada. The exploration program successfully completed seven diamond core holes totalling 1,486 metres across three separate drill pads. Systematic geological core logging confirmed the visual identification of sphalerite and galena mineralization in all seven completed holes, indicating pervasive base and critical metal mineralizing systems across the prospective carbonate property.
The most pronounced sulphide mineralisation was intercepted from Pad 2 near the stratigraphic contact between the Dunedin and Stone Formations within extensive barite-quartz breccia zones. In particular, diamond drill hole PR-006 intersected a cumulative 29-metre interval containing visible mineralisation, highlighted by a high-grade interval of 2.0 metres containing approximately 10 percent visually estimated sphalerite from 59.0 metres downhole. In addition, drill hole PR-005 intersected 3.0 metres containing approximately 8 percent sphalerite from 39.0 metres, demonstrating robust near-surface continuity.
The 2026 drilling program successfully tested depths down to 276 metres, more than doubling the penetration depth of historical shallow exploration. Drill cores confirmed that mineralisation extends downwards into the underlying Stone Formation to approximately 195 metres downhole, establishing that the hydrothermal system is not stratigraphically confined to the upper carbonate contact. Gallium and germanium are typically hosted substitutionally within the crystal lattices of sphalerite and associated sulphides in Mississippi Valley-type and related carbonate replacement systems.
Core samples from the entire drill campaign have been dispatched under secure chain-of-custody protocols to the ALS analytical laboratory in Kamloops for multi-element preparation, with specialized germanium and gallium assays routed through ALS in Perth, Western Australia. Rapid Critical Metals expects to receive certified laboratory assay results by mid-November 2026. The validated assay data will be utilized to quantify grade continuity, guide geophysical interpretation and plan follow-up resource delineation drilling for the 2027 exploration season.
