Story details
Residents of Tver Oblast bought nearly 490,000 insurance policies in January–June 2026, about one-third more than a year earlier, the Bank of Russia’s regional branch reported on 8 October. Total insurance premiums increased 6% year on year to RUB 5.9 billion.
Compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (OSAGO) accounted for more than 270,000 policies and RUB 1.2 billion in premiums. The average OSAGO premium was RUB 4,600, according to the same regional release.
Policy count, premium income and an average premium measure different aspects of the insurance market. The figures refer to Tver Oblast and the first half of the year; they do not show insurer profitability or each household’s coverage.
This is a retrospective market update, not a forecast. The regional Bank of Russia release is the primary source for the reported totals; no individual insurer is identified in the figures cited here.
