Rosstat records Russia’s average petrol at RUB 78.73 a litre

Rosstat’s 7 October release reports national weighted-average retail prices on 5 October 2026 of RUB 78.73 per litre for motor gasoline and RUB 86.72 for diesel. The 28 September comparison values were RUB 78.50 and RUB 86.77 respectively.

By grade, AI-92 gasoline averaged RUB 74.72 per litre, AI-95 RUB 81.03, and AI-98 or higher RUB 104.32. The table also gives regional prices; these national figures should not be read as a price paid at every filling station.

For the week to 5 October, Rosstat’s price indices show gasoline at 100.3% of its 28 September level and diesel at 99.9%. The release describes weekly monitoring across more than 1,800 filling stations in 280 surveyed cities, with the national average weighted by regional consumption shares.
