Sakhalinstat reported on 1 October that the industrial production index in Sakhalin Oblast for January–August 2026 was 110.5% of the corresponding period a year earlier. The territorial statistics office also reported RUB 814,010.1 million in shipments of own-produced goods, work and services during the eight months.
The index and the shipment total describe different measures. The first is a comparison of production activity with January–August 2025; the second is a monetary value for goods and services shipped by producers in the oblast. The published notice presents both for the same reporting period.
The release provides an oblast-level aggregate rather than separate figures for each industrial sector or company in its short notice. The index should therefore not be read as a growth rate for every producer, and the shipment amount is not a measure of profit or physical output.
