Story details
Tverstat’s 8 October release says that, among 45 monitored food items in Tver Oblast, prices rose for 26, fell for 17 and were unchanged for two between 29 September and 5 October 2026. The figures describe a weekly regional survey.
Cheese and tomatoes recorded the largest rises listed, at 3.8% each. Vegetable preserves for baby food increased 2.5%, while butter rose 2.2%. On the other side, apples fell 5.3%, onions 2.7%, beetroot 2.0% and carrots 1.9%.
The table also reports product prices and indices against 28 September. For example, beef excluding boneless meat was RUB 834.84 per kilogram and its index was 100.03; this shows a small increase against the base date, not a national price.
These are observations for Tver Oblast and the surveyed items, not a Russia-wide food inflation rate. The count of items moving up or down does not weight their household spending importance. The release gives a dated snapshot for the period ending 5 October.
