Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Aljadaan led the Kingdom’s delegation to the 126th GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting in Bahrain on October 1, according to a ministry notice published October 2. Bahrain’s finance and national economy minister chaired the session, attended by GCC finance ministers and the council’s secretary-general.
Ministers reviewed progress on the GCC customs union and adopted a periodic report monitoring the Gulf Common Market. They also discussed regional developments and coordination among member states. Aljadaan took part in a joint session with GCC finance ministers, central-bank governors and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, where participants discussed an IMF paper on economic prospects and policy challenges in building resilience to geopolitical shocks.
