King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) celebrated 290 graduates of its Specializations Program on September 10, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The program is delivered through KAUST Academy and focuses on five areas: artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, renewable energy and water sustainability. The university described it as a route for developing Saudi talent in fields it considers national priorities.

SPA reported 23,995 applicants, of whom 5,065 advanced to a placement test, 2,473 enrolled in an introductory course and 1,176 qualified for an advanced course. The final summer program included an eight-week in-person stage after online and other training phases.
