The Saudi Central Bank announced on September 16 that it had raised its repurchase agreement rate by 25 basis points to 4.50%. Its reverse repurchase agreement rate increased by the same amount to 4.00%.

SAMA said the adjustments reflected its mandate to preserve monetary stability. Each increase equals 0.25 percentage points; the two resulting policy rates are 0.50 percentage points apart, calculated from the published levels.
