Story details

South Sudan’s energy and dams minister, Agok Makur Kur, signed the Electricity Power Generation Regulations, 2026, according to a 17 September announcement by the public broadcaster SSBC.

Kur said the regulations would strengthen the legal and institutional basis for electricity development. He linked them to clearer oversight of generation projects and wider access to electricity.

The announcement states the ministry’s policy objectives. It gives no new generation capacity, commissioning date or measured increase in electricity access.
