Story details

Tamboran’s September 25 activities report sets out progress on two drilling programs in Australia’s Beetaloo Basin. Although the reporting period ended on June 30, the document also includes later operational developments, including the early-September start of Jibera South 1H.

At the SS1 pad, SS1-6H reached total depth in 32 days with a 9,505-foot usable horizontal section. SS1-4H took 24 days and included a 9,329-foot usable horizontal section. These wells were formerly called SS-7H and SS-8H respectively; the names refer to the same wells. SS1-2H remained under drilling when the report was issued.

The joint venture planned stimulation of the three SS1 wells for the December 2026 quarter. Separately, Santos began Jibera South 1H in EP 161, where Tamboran holds 25%. That well forms part of a two-well appraisal program. Drilling milestones and proposed completion work provide different stages of evidence; the report does not establish production performance for these new wells.
