Story details
Tartisan Nickel announced on 28 October that its wholly owned Canadian Arrow Mines subsidiary had received an early exploration permit for Sill Lake in Ontario. The project, formerly known as the Prace Mine, lies approximately 30 kilometres north-northeast of Sault Ste. Marie and previously produced silver and lead.
Ontario’s Ministry of Energy and Mines issued permit PR-26-000145 on 21 October, with a three-year effective term. The issue date is earlier than the company’s announcement date. The authorisation concerns early exploration and should not be read as permission for a new commercial mining operation.
A 2023 airborne magnetic survey indicated a possible structural continuation extending approximately two kilometres. Management collected samples, principally from the interpreted silver-vein extension, and submitted them to AGAT Laboratories in Thunder Bay. The announcement provides no new assay results establishing grade or a mineral resource along that extension.
Tartisan intends to test the target and release further details as plans are finalised. Activities remain subject to permit conditions and any other applicable approvals. First Nations representatives joined the site visit and an information-sharing session; continued engagement forms part of the company’s exploration planning rather than replacing the regulatory requirements.
