Story details
TotalEnergies announced on September 10 a fast-track development plan for the Acacia-5 discovery in Angola’s Block 17. The discovery was made in June. The company said first oil would follow only three months later, using available capacity on the Pazflor floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
Acacia-5 is expected to increase Block 17 production by 6,000 barrels per day. That is a prospective block-level increment, rather than a measured individual-well rate or confirmation of a completed production period. TotalEnergies operates Block 17 with a 38% interest.
The company also signed agreements with ANPG for 40% operated interests in exploration Blocks 17/25 and 32/21. Their proximity to existing offshore hubs offers potential future tiebacks. The agreements establish exploration participation; they do not demonstrate new recoverable volumes or guarantee that additional developments will proceed.
