The UAE and Germany held the 12th session of their Joint Economic Committee in Munich on 11 September, co-chaired by UAE Foreign Trade Minister Thani Al Zeyoudi and German Economics and Energy Minister Katherina Reiche. The sides agreed a programme to deepen cooperation across energy, advanced technology, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, financial services, research, agriculture and infrastructure. They also committed to facilitate trade and investment and improve companies’ market access.

WAM reported that 7,685 German companies operated in the UAE by the end of May 2026. Non-oil trade between the two countries was about US$15.6 billion in 2025, up 14.7% from 2024. The committee also discussed the UAE’s CEPA network: 38 agreements had been concluded since 2021, of which 18 were in force at the time of the meeting.
