Story details

West African Resources reported on 28 October record quarterly gold production of 127,950 ounces from its Sanbrado and Kiaka operations in Burkina Faso. The company reported all-in sustaining costs of US$1,570 per ounce for the September quarter. The figure is its stated AISC measure, rather than a gold sales price or a complete measure of every project expenditure.

Gold sales totalled 135,245 ounces at an average realised price of US$4,240 per ounce. Sales exceeding current-quarter production reflect different inventory and delivery measures; the quantities should not be added together as newly mined gold. Sanbrado produced 51,920 ounces and Kiaka 76,030 ounces, which together make up the reported group production.

Operating cash flow reached A$458 million. At 30 September, cash stood at A$1.195 billion, alongside approximately A$217 million of unsold gold bullion. The bullion valuation relates to 36,085 ounces held at quarter-end and is separate from cash. A special dividend of A$0.20 per share was paid after the reporting period.

Year-to-date production was 360,857 ounces at AISC of US$1,725 per ounce. WAF maintained its expectation of achieving 2026 guidance of 430,000–490,000 ounces at AISC below US$1,900 per ounce. It also plans further exploration and faster debt repayments. Those annual targets and future actions remain distinct from the completed quarter’s production and cash results.
