Story details

XXIX Metal announced on 28 October a campaign of approximately 65,000 metres across Thierry in Ontario and Opemiska and Cooke in Quebec. Two rigs have operated at Thierry since July, while four additional rigs are scheduled to mobilize between early November and January 2027. The six-rig total is therefore a planned deployment.

Thierry accounts for approximately 25,000 metres, targeting the K1 deposit under a revised bulk-tonnage geological interpretation. More than 6,200 metres in nine holes had been completed, with assays pending. Two further drilling permits support testing beside K1 and in the corridor between K1 and K2.

Opemiska’s approximately 20,000-metre programme will seek to upgrade resource confidence for the pre-feasibility study and test additional veins and pit margins. Cooke is allocated approximately 20,000 metres to establish a first mineral resource estimate and examine whether it could provide another source of feed for the proposed Opemiska plant.

The company expects drilling and assay releases through the first half of 2027, with the Opemiska study targeted for the second half. Planned resource upgrades and possible integration of Cooke remain subject to results and technical assessment. They are not completed reserve additions or an approved combined mine-development plan.
