Story details
Ooredoo Qatar announced on 7 October 2026 that it had signed a strategic transformation agreement with McKinsey & Company. The Doha operator says the collaboration will support its ongoing transformation, focusing on digital and artificial intelligence capabilities. The announcement named Ooredoo Qatar CEO Ali bin Jabor Al Thani and McKinsey global managing partner Bob Sternfels as signatories.
Ooredoo framed the deal as a next step in its 2026 programme to accelerate AI across operations, customer engagement and enterprise services. The new work is intended to help pursue sustainable growth and long-term value; the release does not name the first systems or business units.
This is intended strategic support, not completed technical deployment. No agreement value, duration, staffing, timetable or target metrics are disclosed. Nor does the release report measured service, productivity, customer-experience or financial improvements attributable to McKinsey.
A defined work programme or update with deliverables would provide the next evidence. Ooredoo says it wants measurable impact, but the announcement supplies no baseline or results. The agreement currently signals external advice for a telecom operator’s digital and AI agenda.
