Gers communes lift precautionary tap-water restrictions after tests
A communiqué from the Gers prefecture says tests by Veolia with the regional health agency found no impact on tap-water quality, so the 10 October precautionary restrictions in Condom and Cassaigne were lifted.
The communiqué said tap-water use in Condom and Cassaigne had been restricted as a precaution on the morning of 10 October, after fish mortality was observed in the Baïse river. It did not establish a cause for the fish mortality.
The notice said analyses conducted by Veolia with the regional health agency (ARS) found no impact on water quality. The restrictions were lifted later on 10 October, and the communiqué said tap water could be consumed without danger or restriction.
