Electrical incident shuts Teresina’s ETA Sul for several hours
Águas de Teresina said an electrical incident at ETA Sul, which it says supplies about 80% of the capital, required an emergency repair and several hours of shutdown on 10 October.
The operator said the electrical incident at the South Water Treatment Station (ETA Sul) was identified during the early hours of Saturday, 10 October. The station was switched off for a few hours while an emergency repair was carried out.
The company said supply could be interrupted temporarily in Teresina’s East, Southeast and South zones and part of the North zone. It reported that the system was recovering, with distribution expected to resume first in lower-lying areas and then higher areas; tanker trucks were serving health units and other essential services.
