At its September 24 meeting, the CBE Monetary Policy Committee chose to leave policy unchanged after assessing recent and projected inflation and the surrounding balance of risks. Its release also reviewed domestic output and the August inflation data used in that assessment.

The overnight deposit and lending rates stayed at 19% and 20%; the main operation and discount rates remained at 19.5%. The CBE reported real growth of 4.7% in Q2 2026, down from 5.0% in Q1, and a 5.1% average for FY2025/26. Annual headline inflation was 14.5% in August; regional tensions and energy prices remained upside risks.
