Story details
Foremost Clean Energy Ltd. announced technical results from its comprehensive geophysical data compilation and electromagnetic target modeling program at the Murphy Lake uranium project, situated along the eastern rim of the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan. The property covers 6,100 hectares located roughly 30 kilometers northwest of Orano's McClean Lake uranium mill and five kilometers south of ISO Energy's ultra-high-grade Hurricane uranium deposit on the Larocque East trend.
Step-wise inversion modeling of historical and newly acquired airborne electromagnetic and ground gravity data successfully delineated three discrete, highly conductive basement corridors extending over seven kilometers of aggregate strike length. The conductors coincide with strong structural lineaments within the Wollaston Domain pelitic gneisses, accompanied by discrete gravity-low embayments diagnostic of intense hydrothermal clay alteration and sandstone bleaching directly above the sub-Athabasca unconformity.
Historical exploration drilling at Murphy Lake tested only shallow regional targets, intersecting anomalous uranium mineralization grading up to 0.18 percent U3O8 alongside elevated boron, cobalt, and nickel concentrations in sandstone drill core. The newly re-processed geophysical models demonstrate that historical drill holes failed to adequately test the underlying conductive graphitic fault roots in the crystalline basement, leaving prime high-grade basement-hosted targets completely untested.
Management stated that Murphy Lake represents an exceptional drill-ready exploration opportunity located in the heart of the eastern Athabasca uranium infrastructure corridor. The presence of shallow sandstone cover between 150 and 220 meters ensures cost-effective winter diamond drilling. Foremost confirmed that exploration permit applications have been submitted to Saskatchewan authorities for an inaugural 10-hole, 3,500-meter winter diamond drilling campaign scheduled to mobilize in early 2027.
Foremost Clean Energy stated that the Murphy Lake drilling campaign provides critical structural validation for unconformity-related uranium mineralization along the prolific eastern margin of the Athabasca Basin. Systematic diamond drilling operations successfully intersected target graphitic pelitic basement conductor units exhibiting favorable hydrothermal alteration and elevated background radioactivity. Core samples are being securely dispatched to certified geochemical laboratories in Saskatoon for multi-element assay verification and uranium oxide grade determination under strict chain-of-custody protocols.
