Story details
HF Sinclair reported third-quarter results on 28 October, with net income attributable to stockholders of US$2.015 billion for the period ended 30 September. The comparable 2025 result was US$403 million. Adjusted attributable net income was US$2.079 billion, compared with US$459 million; the adjusted measure is separate from reported net income.
Adjusted refinery gross margin reached US$54.22 per produced barrel sold, against US$19.16 a year earlier. The company attributed the improvement principally to tight transportation-fuel supply, stronger crack spreads and benefits from EPA small-refinery renewable-fuel compliance waivers. These margin effects describe refining economics rather than an increase in physical throughput.
Average crude charge declined to 614,060 barrels per day from 639,050 barrels per day. Stronger transport-fuel sales in the western region were partly offset by weaker Mid-Continent sales associated with the planned El Dorado refinery turnaround. Refining adjusted EBITDA was US$2.582 billion, compared with US$661 million.
The company returned US$572 million to stockholders through dividends and share repurchases during the quarter and announced a regular quarterly dividend of US$0.525 per share. The release shows a sharp improvement in profitability while retaining the operational distinction between margin expansion, refinery activity and distributions to shareholders.
