Story details
Spain’s agriculture ministry announced on 19 October a further €2.4 million in fuel-cost aid for 424 fishing vessels. One order allocates €1.74 million to 115 vessels operating in international waters; another assigns €680,000 to 309 vessels in national and EU waters after appeals were resolved.
This second payment brings the first tranche of aid to €5.6 million for 4,459 vessels owned by 4,152 operators. That tranche covers fuel consumed from 22 March to 30 April. The ministry separately said a second period, covering 1 May to 30 June, had a €9.9 million list of potential beneficiaries; the October payment does not refer to that later period.
