Story details

The UAE and Singapore agreed to convene their fourth Joint Committee and broaden cooperation in trade, investment, energy, AI, digital infrastructure and logistics, according to a joint statement issued after a meeting in Abu Dhabi on 21 October. The statement says the two sides welcomed the launch of negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which is still under negotiation.

They also welcomed signed or renewed memoranda on investment, capacity-building and industrial development from the September Abu Dhabi–Singapore Joint Forum, and the conclusion of memoranda on energy, water and disease-vector control. The statement reports non-oil bilateral trade of about US$6.5 billion in 2025, 25% higher than in 2024. It also says Singapore’s Temasek plans to deepen its UAE presence with an Abu Dhabi office; these are agreed cooperation steps and an announced corporate plan, not evidence that all prospective projects or negotiations are complete.
