Saudi Central Bank Governor Ayman Al-Sayari delivered Saudi Arabia’s statement to the International Monetary and Financial Committee during the IMF and World Bank annual meetings. He said conflict-related pressures were spreading from energy and shipping into trade, inflation, financing and confidence.

The statement called for policies matched to the source and persistence of price pressures, stronger safeguards against leverage and liquidity risks, and attention to AI and digital finance risks alongside their potential productivity gains. It also reaffirmed Saudi support for IMF capacity development, including a USD 279 million pledge and the Fund’s regional office in Riyadh.
