Story details

The Monetary Authority of Singapore and the People’s Bank of China held their fourth annual Green Finance Taskforce meeting in Nanning on 17 September; MAS published its account the next day. More than 50 regulatory and industry participants discussed extending taxonomy interoperability beyond green activities to transition activities, encouraging green panda bond issuance and using technology to support sustainable finance.

The taskforce also examined biodiversity credits, insurance for climate resilience and adaptation, and links between cross-border carbon markets. An industry-led roundtable focused on resilient infrastructure, physical climate risk and ways adaptation projects could develop viable revenue models and attract commercial financing.
