Story details
Norway’s all-items consumer price index (CPI) reached 104.0 in September on the 2025=100 reference scale, Statistics Norway (SSB) reported on 9 October. It was 0.5% above August and 3.4% above September 2025. These are measured index changes, not a price forecast.
The CPI adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy products (CPI-ATE) increased 0.2% in the month and 3.0% over 12 months. The measure gives a complementary view by removing those effects; it does not describe every household’s spending pattern.
The housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group rose 0.3% from August and 3.5% from a year earlier. The group combines several household costs, so its movement should not be read as the change in electricity bills alone.
The September figures are monthly national indices. SSB publishes the series to track changes in consumer prices; index points and percentage changes are distinct measures. The release does not predict how prices will move in later months.
