China’s fixed-asset investment excluding rural households totaled 29.31 trillion yuan in January-August, down 7.2% year over year on a comparable basis, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on 16 September. Investment fell 0.5% month over month in August.
The secondary sector’s investment declined 2.9%, and tertiary-sector investment fell 9.9%. Infrastructure investment was down 4.0%, while private investment fell 10.1%. The statistical coverage includes fixed-asset projects with planned investment of at least 5 million yuan and all real-estate development projects.
