China’s producer price index for industrial products rose 3.8% in August from a year earlier and 0.4% from July, the National Bureau of Statistics said on 10 September. The purchasing-price index for industrial producers increased 5.8% annually and 0.3% monthly.

Prices for means of production increased 5.0% year over year, while consumer-goods prices fell 0.5%. Mining and quarrying prices were up 17.8% annually. The January-August average producer-price index was 2.0% above the same period last year.
