Eurostat’s release shows an increase from July’s 2.9%.
Annual inflation reached 3.2% in the euro area in August 2026, according to the 17 September release. The EU rate was also 3.2%, compared with 3.0% in July.
Services contributed 1.43 percentage points and energy 1.29 percentage points to euro area annual inflation. Contributions are different measures from each sector’s own price growth rate.
The company’s September disclosure includes taxes, salaries, dividends and local procurement spending.
The 8 September update covers drilling through March 2026; the resource estimate is not a reserve.
