Eurostat’s October release reports unemployment rates unchanged from July.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.4% in the euro area and 6.1% in the European Union in August 2026, according to the 1 October release. Both rates were unchanged from July.
A year earlier, the rates were 6.3% and 6.0% respectively. Monthly stability therefore coincided with a small increase over the annual comparison.
