India’s Ministry of Finance published the Union government’s accounts through August on 30 September. Total receipts were ₹13.67709 trillion, or 37.5% of the 2026/27 budget estimate; net tax revenue was ₹8.37921 trillion.
Total expenditure reached ₹20.77958 trillion, 38.9% of the annual estimate, including ₹5.09949 trillion in capital spending. The government transferred ₹5.90391 trillion to states as their share of taxes, ₹60,243 crore less than in the same period a year earlier.
