Story details
Dubai Municipality presented a Waste Generator Platform at WETEX on 20 October. The digital system lets authorised waste-transport companies register contracts with waste generators and records facility locations, activities, waste types and container capacity. The municipality said an interactive dashboard gives officials current information for planning and oversight.
The municipality also reported that its Bottle2Bag initiative had collected and recycled two million plastic bottles, equivalent to about 40 tonnes, with more than 90 entities participating. The release gives no platform launch date, user count, operating cost or measured landfill-diversion result.
