The Roads General Authority reported that expansion-joint work had reached 86.2% completion across 22 road-maintenance projects in several Saudi regions. More than 6,500 linear metres of bridge joints had been completed under the 2026 programme, according to the update published by the Saudi Press Agency on 19 October.
Asphalt-joint works were 99.5% complete, while mechanical joints designed for 100–200 millimetres of movement were reported fully complete. Work on 50–100 millimetre joints stood at 87.2%; 938 metres of joints below 50 millimetres remained under construction, with completion targeted by year-end. These are the authority’s reported progress figures, not an independent engineering inspection.
