South Africa’s National Treasury announced on 25 September a $200 million New Development Bank loan agreement for Stage 1 of the Olifants Management Model Programme. The project is a bulk-water infrastructure programme in Limpopo.
The financing is a sovereign loan to the National Treasury. Stage 1 is intended to develop water supply infrastructure drawing from Flag Boshielo Dam for municipal and industrial users, according to the government’s project announcement.
