Turkey’s consumer price index increased 1.84% in August from July and 31.51% year over year, TÜİK reported on 3 September. The index was 22.07% higher than in December 2025 and 31.79% higher on a twelve-month average basis.

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 33.79% annually. Transport prices increased 35.08%, while housing, utilities and other fuels rose 39.77%. TÜİK’s B core index, excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcohol, tobacco and gold, advanced 30.98% year over year and 1.66% month over month.
