First-hand home sales across Türkiye fell 4.5% year over year to 44,378 in August, while second-hand sales declined 19.4% to 83,032, according to TÜİK data published on 17 September. First-hand homes accounted for 34.8% of total sales and second-hand homes 65.2%.
Mortgage-backed sales increased 7.2% year over year to 22,131, while other home sales dropped 18.3% to 105,279. TÜİK says the figures cover homes sold in Türkiye according to General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre records. They count completed sales and do not measure house-price changes.
