Story details

Iraq’s Oil Ministry spokesperson Salim al-Rikabi told Al-Sabah that the country’s oil exports were running at about 2.7 million barrels a day in October. In the spokesperson’s estimate, southern outlets accounted for about 2.4 million barrels a day, while northern exports, including production from the Kurdistan Region, ranged from 250,000 to 300,000 barrels a day.

Al-Sabah linked the figures to export receipts that include crude as well as petroleum products such as fuel oil. The spokesperson put monthly receipts from crude and other petroleum-product exports at $4.5 billion to $5 billion.

This is the ministry spokesperson’s reported pace in early October, not a final monthly SOMO export table. The report gives a south-north split but does not provide a finalized October total or a cargo-by-cargo loading list.
