Norway budget estimates NOK 568bn petroleum cash flow for 2027
Norway’s 2027 budget estimates net petroleum cash flow of about NOK 568 billion, after NOK 671 billion estimated for 2026. The ministry also estimates 2026 output at 244 million standard cubic metres of oil equivalents.
Norway’s Ministry of Energy estimated state net cash flow from petroleum activities at about NOK 671 billion in 2026 and NOK 568 billion in 2027. It also estimated total petroleum production at about 244 million standard cubic metres (Sm³) of oil equivalents in 2026, describing that as the highest level in 20 years and about 2.1% above 2025.
The release put 2026 petroleum investment at about NOK 283 billion and said production is expected to remain stable and high over the next few years before gradually declining. A petroleum white paper is planned for early 2027 and is expected to address longer-term choices, including access to exploration acreage. These are budget estimates and forward-looking expectations, not final outturns.
The Western Desert development is designed to process up to 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day; start-up activity does not mean full production.
