Story details
Statistics Norway’s weekly salmon export series put the fresh and chilled farmed salmon price at NOK 73.80 per kilogram in week 40, covering 28 September to 4 October. The price was 0.3% higher than the previous week and 5.0% lower than a year earlier.
Export volume for fresh and chilled salmon was 30,277 tonnes. That was 6.5% below week 39 but 26.1% above the corresponding week in 2025. Price and volume therefore moved differently across the two comparison periods.
Frozen salmon averaged NOK 75.31 per kilogram and exports totalled 936 tonnes during the same week. These categories are reported separately from fresh and chilled product.
The figures are weekly export observations, published on 7 October, rather than domestic retail prices or a forecast. They describe the specified product categories and period; the figures do not establish prices paid by individual producers.
