Story details

The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported from Gedaref on 10 October that the state Ministry of Social Development and Welfare held a workshop to review preliminary findings from a comprehensive social survey. The subjects discussed included household conditions, poverty, income and expenditure, alongside household registers organized across neighborhoods and villages.

The ministry said the survey was intended to support planning and help set priorities for future interventions, with final results expected to be presented in the coming days. SUNA’s report does not publish indicator values, sample size, fieldwork dates, definitions or a methodology. The findings therefore remain preliminary and cannot be used to quantify poverty or household income from this report.
