Story details
Energy-storage manufacturer HiTHIUM announced its entry into Canada on 21 October, describing Toronto as its main local hub and naming subsidiary offices in British Columbia and Alberta and operating sites in Québec, Yellowknife and Fort Smith. The company said it is offering four-hour and eight-hour battery energy storage systems for utility-scale projects and a 4 MWh sodium-ion product designed for storage durations from two to eight hours.
HiTHIUM says its lithium-ion eight-hour unit is rated at 6.9 MWh and is intended for uses including wind projects and data centres; these are company product specifications and applications. Its announcement also cites external market expectations for Canadian storage growth, but those are not independently established by the release. No Canadian customer contract or project deployment was announced.
