Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a September 20 meeting on preparations for a national economic conference called for by the president and the National Economic Transformation Program. The proposed conference is intended to review recent progress, discuss current challenges and gather state institutions, experts, business, civil society and citizens to identify priorities.

The Cabinet said the program seeks a resilient economy led by the private sector, with stronger exports, job creation and improved living standards. It builds on earlier reform initiatives and is intended to assess outcomes and unresolved challenges before setting a matrix of economic reforms and executive measures. Officials stressed coordination to update targets and keep the competitiveness-focused program on schedule.
