Operating margin and break-even

Test uptime, costs, revenue deductions and ±20% sale-price scenarios.

Inputs are sent to the server for this calculation without being saved or added to the URL. Saving a scenario stores it only in this browser.

Calculation inputs

Enter decimals with a point or comma, without thousands separators. Blank optional values stay unknown.

Use one currency throughout. “Currency” denotes your chosen currency; no exchange rates or market prices are supplied.

The liquid unit selector applies to all volume, rate and per-volume cost inputs. Changing it does not convert entered numbers; use the unit converter when needed.

Formula and assumptions

Assumes constant saleable-liquid rate on operating days and constant price/costs. Fixed costs accrue every calendar day, including downtime. The deduction is a user-selected share of gross revenue, not a jurisdictional tax rule. Include water handling in your costs if relevant. Capital, financing, tax, decline and closure liabilities are excluded; this is an operating scenario, not an investment valuation. Zero output or 100% deduction makes break-even undefined.

V = rate × days × uptime / 100; R = V × price × (1 − royalty / 100); C = V × variableCost + fixedCost × days; margin = R − C; breakEven = C / (V × (1 − royalty / 100))
