Rising geopolitical tensions, disruptions to energy trade and competition between major economies reshaped global energy markets throughout 2026. In an interview with Wellficent, ENPRODE CEO Yüksel Güler assessed the transformation of the world energy system, from oil prices and the Middle East to the Russia-Ukraine war, US-China rivalry, AI-driven electricity demand and nuclear power. In Güler’s view, the defining concept of the coming period will not be “cheap energy” but “reliable and uninterrupted energy”.
